In my second hand clothes shopping I came across this adorable patterned shirt. (I got this before my shopping hiatus I am on) Its too cute and it was only $2 because there were two seams ripped on it. Easy and quick fix so I couldn't pass it up!

"Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world"-Marilyn Monroe I have a slight shoe problem. Well mainly I just like a lot of shoes. Now I am no Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani or the Princess whoever who owns like over 1000 shoes, but I have quite a few. Forty five pairs to be exact. Now most of the time I've come across some cute ones at thrift stores (real big surprise there huh?) or I got them on sale or they were bought when I was working for a paycheck...(being a stay at home mom I get paid in hugs or tantrums depending on the day) I decided to do a little post on my top five favorite shoes this summer! I've had all these shoes for awhile and even though I have quite a few others these are the ones I keep reaching for! I definitely have a wish list of what I would like to have, I will share it sometime, but I'm trying to not buy myself anything for (insert gasp) three weeks. That's right I'm on shopping hiatus right now so I think looking at what I have and how much I actually love to wear the things I own now will bring on a new form of satisfaction so I don't cheat and go buy something! Anyways enjoy the pics of some shoes! So I found this cute little chair for Sophia at the thrift store for $5! So cute but I wanted to change the color and design. Last week the little bug and I went to the pool! She loves the pool and keeps wanting to "do it alllllll myself mama!" Of course I don't let her, but she just loves going in and out of the pool and staying on the steps since she can move around all by herself!
I love adding little pops of color or lace or "flair" to a shirt. Its even better if there's a small problem with a shirt that I know I can fix by adding something to it! I love the little banners that are everywhere. Over on pinterest they show up in bedrooms, bathrooms and living rooms. I love the look! I decided that in Sophia's new room (we just moved) I wanted to put one up on the wall. I did a no sew banner that turned out adorable! You only need fabric, string (twine or ribbon) and a hot glue gun. I am loving the Aztec/Mexican kind of theme going on right now. My picture frames are very basic so I decided to "dress" a couple up a bit. Here is one I did that I am in love with.
(Since I am in the process of moving right now I cannot find my sim card for my camera where I had taken pictures for the last few parts.....sorry....) I sewed all the way around the lace. Also, make sure you get the exact thread or you'll see a difference between the thread and lace/fabric. |
Hi I'm Ruth!
I love fashion and all things that make up a wardrobe. I hope to inspire you to try new trends, enjoy the classics and not to be afraid to dress for yourself! Looking for something?
