I received these earrings from Oasap a few weeks ago. I love the idea of having a very basic outfit and adding a statement accessory so it gives an unexpected wow factor. Be it a necklace, bracelet, purse, scarf etc. it adds a pop of glam to an otherwise very basic outfit. Because these earrings are costume jewelry I wouldn't recommend wearing them all the time, but for a date night, fun girls dinner out or wanting to add a little extra sparkle to errand running these are fun to wear!
You seriously should check them out! Oasap has so many different types of statement earrings that really are a great price! They are offering free shipping so it makes them even better!
These go perfect with a simple t shirt or sweater and jeans but if you want to really go all out glam wear them with a suit for work or a fancy dress on a date (maybe for Valentines Day?)
I love that they have a green stone in them and that it's not a huge amount of color. Sometimes statement earrings have color everywhere and it's very overwhelming, but these have a mini pop of color to it and I love it!
I know it's only been a few days since I last posted, but in those few days it was seriously so busy. My family and I were in Washington visiting my family for the last 10 days (pics to come soon) and since I only get up to that side of the country twice a year I wanted to spend as much time off the computer as possible. Sometimes I find myself going on Pinterest or Instagram and I look up aaaand one hour passed. What?!? (hopefully I'm not the only one that happens to?) Vacations are so fun and I enjoyed being back even though it felt like it was a short amount of time. Now to get back to the day to day routine with my two little beauties....
Amelia slept 13 hours last night. No wake ups. Plane rides can wear a person out!
Last day in Washington was beautiful. Cold but sunny this little girl was out almost all day long playing with her Uncles, Auntie, Papa and her Gaga!
We miss you Seattle! Can't wait to go back again!
Also the giveaway with AveryGreyDesign ends on Friday! You can see the post here! Remember to sign up and enter by Friday at midnight!
I am so excited to have my first giveaway! I will be hosting a giveaway once a month and for my first one I have teamed up with AveryGreyDesign to giveaway their Heart Boho Headband in anticipation for Valentines Day! I got the headband for Amelia and just love it on her!
I love the quality of these headbands! The elastic is thin and soft and doesn't leave marks at all! I love the ability to have the band sized differently too! This can be used for a baby, toddler, tween or adult! Great gift for a daughter, niece, granddaughter or even yourself to wear!

One reason I look forward to coming home to Washington is my hair stylist. She is absolutely amazing. I have very thick corse hair and it took me forever and about 25 stylists to find her. Now I don't let anyone else touch my hair. She's that good. If you're in the Tacoma/Seattle area you can find Emily at Gene Juarez on South Hill. I dyed my hair pink last time I was here and now that the pink has faded I need to cut off all of the blonde. That means going shorter! I have been looking for the past few weeks at different hair cuts and gathered them all together. So many cute short cuts going on right now. I have a few that I like more than the others, but what do you think? Leave a comment and let me know what one is your favorite!
1. Link broken. I love the angle of this haircut with the longer layers.
2. This is a little bit longer but love the simplicity of the cut. It looks like it would very easy to style and of course I'd keep my bangs.
3. I love these bangs. Found here.
4. This cut is so cute. Love the bluntness of the bottom layer. Found here.
5. This one is super cute. I love the layers and the angle! It might be a bit too angled for me but I love the way it's styled. Found here.
6. I love this cut, but it would be a HUGE stretch for me. Found here.
7. Picture on tumbler found here. I love all the layers on this cut. I have thick hair like the model and its wavy so this would be one of those get up and go hairstyles!
8. The bangs and the layers. My hair is a bit thicker but I love how short the cut is on this one. Found here.
9. Love the ittle whispy layers. Found here.
10. The bangs and the cut are literally perfect. Love this. Found here.
11. This look is super cute. Love how the cut frames her face. Found here.
So excited to get a cut (and maybe a color too!) I'll post pictures of what I get on Friday! Hope everyone has a Happy mid-week Day!
This weekend has been a roller coaster of craziness! Here are a few pictures of our last 48 hours.
Traveling with two kids is way different than one. A day starting at 4:30am is very long. Both girls did amazing and we had 0 tantrums on a 6 1/2 hour flight! Win! However the first day back was filled with night wakings, early wake ups and a crying 8 month old who only wanted mama. Tough. But looks like today (Monday) we are accustomed to the three hour time change.
Nothing like the cold Pacific Northwest. Sophia loves being outside and just runs, jumps and climbs everything. It's so fun to see her get outside and be fearless. Baby Millie had a hard day, but she loved being outside!
And nothing like being in Seattle to see the Seahawks WIN the NFC conference! The game was amazing. Even if you don't watch football you HAVE to watch the last 15 minutes of the game. It was a spectacular win and was so fun to be home with my family to watch it! Go Hawks! Superbowl bound!!
And of course seeing my family is literally the most wonderful things in the world. My sister is my only life long girlfriend I will have. I appreciate my parents and brothers more than anything in the world. I am so grateful to be able to spend time with them when I live so far away! So excited to be spending time in Seattle for the next 10 days! Hope everyone has a wonderful start to their week!
This week has flown by! My little family is leaving to take a trip to Washington for a bit to visit my family and packing for two kids has literally taken all week. Seriously it's like we have to pack like we are going to be gone for three months. Gone are the days of one carry on and that's all we need. Anyways we are all excited to get some cold weather in and maybe see snow!?!
Since today is my Fashion Friday post I decided to wear something a bit different for me. I am more a t-shirt, jeans kinda girl so wearing a dress and clogs with heels is dressy for me. I like mixing it up every now and then though! Oasap sent me this shirt to style and it's a bit "Western-y" so I decided to just go with it!
I like the colors of the shirt because they will really go with anything. Light jeans, dark washed jeans, gray jeans. Pretty much this could be worn in any season! Plus!
I will say this shirt fits small. I ordered a medium and it was a bit tight around the arms and boobage so I would definitely order at least one size up depending on how loose you would want it to fit.
I decided to wear the shirt tucked in with skinny dark wash jeans, clogs, a brown bangle bracelet, gold necklace and a canvas bag. These jeans are fun to wear because they have buttons along the side of them! I unbuttoned a couple of them to show off the buckled clogs! (I think they are so cute)
This is a different look for me but I really like it! I could also wear it with cut off jean shorts and cute sandals during the summer! Sometimes it's good to think outside the box because you could end up really loving something you normally wouldn't have even tried on! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and next week I'll be blogging from Seattle! Yeah!

I got this dress on an amazing deal, but it was one size too big. As the dress is a shift dress I know it's supposed to be straight, but for my body shape and height (5'2 ish) it was too straight for my body shape. I felt like I was wearing a mumu. It needed to be taken in a good couple inches....on either side. Because of the zipper pockets it would be near impossible to take in the sides unless I re positioned the zippers. Way too much work for that. (I hardly have time to get one project done lately so this had to be a quick alteration) I decided to just sew down the back of the dress. Since there was already a seam going down the back it made it super easy to do!
It's a bit hard to tell but you can kind of see how wide the dress is. I pinched the sides of the dress where I wanted the sides to actually be and I still had room in the dress!
You can see the seam is going down the back of the dress. I laid the dress inside out and pinned along the back seam where I needed it to be taken in. It ended up being a good 5 inches. I tapered the seam down because I do have some hips and needed to make sure I'd be able to take the dress off once I had it on and it fit perfect there. As a side note I do not use a measuring tape. I eyeball everything. Most of the time it works for me. I've been sewing for quite awhile so I know my body shape pretty well. If you don't I would definitely break out that measuring tape and have it!
I sewed a new seam, tried the dress on (to make sure it fit the way I wanted it to) cut the excess fabric off and stitched a zig zag stitch next to the straight stitch. (that way when I wear and wash it the fabric won't unravel)
And there it is! It still looks like a straight shift dress, but taking it in I don't feel like I'm swimming in it. I think it turned out fabulous and it was one of the easiest alterations I've done to any of my clothes!
And here is what the back looks like. The seam goes all the way down the dress. No one will ever know that it was altered! (except if you read my blog) Of course after it was finished I wanted to style it to show (one way) how I'll wear it!
Red purse, leopard print flats, a teeny gold bangle and rings. So simple and I think so classy! Can't go wrong with a little black dress and leopard and red!
I love the detail of the zippers. It makes the dress a little more interesting and I don't have to wear a lot of jewelry with it because of the metal zippers.
I love this how versatile this dress is and how I'll be able to wear it with anything! (ankle boots and a scarf are a definite yes) So glad I bought it and since I was able to do a quick and easy fix it makes it that much better! Have you ever bought something and been able to "fix" it up and now you love it?

Lately I am really getting into basic clothes. Like black, gray and white - basically something simple that could be paired with anything. I received this shirt from Oasap and love that it's a basic but it's striped! This shirt could literally go with anything and that's what I love in my wardrobe.
I paired the shirt with dark wash skinny jeans, leather moto jacket, black booties and blue earrings to complete the look!
Totally think this striped shirt would be super cute with a midi pencil skirt and heels for a date night or to wear to work! It's a total steal on Oasap and they offer free shipping now!
The shirt is very lightweight (it's a chiffon fabric) so wearing it in the spring and summer will be perfect on a hot day! For those cold Winter days you would definitely want to wear it with a long cardigan, coat, blazer or leather jacket.
I haven't done too many update posts on Amelia so I figured at 8 months I should probably get around to doing one. First off time flies when you have multiple kids. I felt like with Sophia I was there every minute. I rocked her to sleep every nap and night (and night awakenings) I was there to give my full on attention to one person. Amelia gets half that. She doesn't liked being rocked to sleep and only falls asleep on me if she is sick or deathly tired. Neither of that really happens so she just lays in her crib and falls asleep. On her own. Without crying. I never thought that existed until she came along to prove me wrong.
These two are inseprable. Amelia wants to do everything her big sister does. If Sophia leaves the room Amelia just looks and waits for her return. It's pretty cute to see their bond forming.
Amelia is definitely going through her attachment phase. She wants mama all day everyday. Sophia says it perfectly "She loves her mama!"
Our nicknames for Amelia are Millie, Millie Moo Moo, Sis and Little. Her favorite foods are anything she can pick up but I'm making sure it's just puffs, cheerios, yogurt tabs and soft veggies. She loves prunes, squash, green beans, rice and oatmeal cereal.
This girl smiles non stop. Seriously she is really this happy all the time. (as long as she is near her mama) She loves smiling and laughing at funny faces and is a little bit of a daredevil. She doesn't really get scared! I'll toss her up in the air and she just laughs and squeaks!
Playing outside is one of her favorite activities. We bought a swing set and she loves to stand by the slide and watch Sophia walk up to the top and slide down! Swinging and eating the grass she pulls up are two other fun things she likes to do when we're outside!
Little Millie got her sickness this last weekend. An ear infection. She was a little grumpy and more clingy than normal but she wasn't waking up at night and there weren't really any other signs. So glad I listened to my mama instincts and took her in to see the Dr. She is much better and back to her normal self!
She has one bottom left tooth that popped out! The other bottom tooth is so close to coming out that I can see the outline of it through her gums. Everything is going in the mouth and she just wants to bite down on anything she can get her hands on to relieve some of that pressure. Hopefully it'll be out in the next few days!
We just love our little Millie. She is so happy and just loves to be loved! She adds so much happiness in our lives and I am so grateful to have another healthy happy little girl in my life!
I used to never really make resolutions because if I felt like changing something I did. Since having kids my attention is so much on them that I have to really make an effort to make changes or try new things. The start of a New Year is a great way to look back on the last year and think about what changes could have been done or to look ahead and see how you want your new year to look! Last year one major resolution I wanted to try was make my family and close friends their birthday presents. I accomplished it! It was so fun to do and really made me research and customize each present I decided to do.
This year I have a few things on my Res List....
First I want to carve out time once a month to have a date with my hubby. The days fly by and turn into weeks and sometimes we are left wondering when the last time we did something just the two of us. I want to make sure we spend time together doing something fun!
Secondly I want to have a mommy-daughter date with Sophia. Even though I stay home with her, Amelia is with us now and so spending one on one time with her once a month would be something special for both us.
Third I want to really simplify some things. Mainly with my house. I am wanting to buy things that will last and make some design changes that I have been wanting to do but hesitant to do!
And lastly this blog. I am really wanting to change some things, add some things, change some things and see if I can get my blog to where I really want it to be. (I'm super excited about some things I'm going to be doing-more on that later)
Do you make resolutions? Do you have any for this year? Here's a few pictures from our first weekend of 2015!
Sophia on the left and Amelia on the right at 8 months. I found this hat that I had made for Sophia and of course had to try it on Millie. They so do not look anything alike but in my opinion two of the cutest littles in the world!
Love these hanging copper lamps at a Starbucks. I am wanting to really simplify my decoration (see New Years Resolution) and that means saving and getting pieces that will last and that are classic. I love copper lamps. This is added to my buy list for the year.
When I took this picture I had a flash forward to 13 years from now. My little girl is getting older and has soooo much personality. Even though the picture is burry and grainy she is such a little beauty and it's fun to watch her grow up!
And this teeny one had her first fever/ear infection. So glad I listened to my mommy instincts and took her in. She's all doctored up and feeling better already!
Sophia has been practicing her coloring and is getting quite good!
And the I want what my sister wants is in full swing. Definitely makes things more exciting around here! I hope everyone has enjoyed their first weekend of the New Year and is staying on track with those New Years Resolutions!
